I Want To...

Find My Career Path

Answering the question, “what do I want to do when I grow up?” is a huge challenge – even for adults. There are very few people who know what they want to do from the time they’re children, actually achieve that goal, and are happy. For the rest of us, how do you decide? Guess? Listen to your parents? Your Friends? Google what careers make the most money?

Sometimes even after you think you’ve done all your homework, the career path  you chose doesn’t bring you the fulfillment you thought it would. Unfortunately feeling “stuck” in your job or career is pretty common. Gallup reports that only 32% of workers in the US are engaged at work, which is a fancy way of saying not very satisfied. Many of us spend more time at work than with our families and friends, so it’s important to find a career path that makes you happy.

How Can Strengths University Help?

One of the great things about Strengths Coaching is that it will help you understand yourself better – including what you like, what you hate, what you need, and what will ultimately make you more satisfied both at work and at home. Sometimes people are in the wrong job, but other times they’re just not utilizing their Strengths in their work. Adjusting your approach and how you do your job may increase your engagement and help you find the right career path.

Personalized Strengths Coaching through Strengths University will help you better understand your own unique set of talents so you can choose a career path that allows you to use your talents every day instead of just something stable or pays the bills . While those things are certainly important, surprisingly they’re not what make you feel satisfied and fulfilled at work.

Gallup found that people who get to use their talents everyday are 6 times more likely to be engaged at work and 3 times more likely to report having an excellent quality of life. Strengths Coaching will help you find the career path or type of work that allows you to use your talents every day, or can also help you figure out how to utilize your talents to be more successful in the position you currently have.
