I Want To...
Achieve a Competitive
Edge for Interviewing
Most people have a difficult time talking about themselves - your accomplishments, your skills - especially when you’re told that you should be humble. Your talents come so naturally to you, it can be easy to take them for granted. In an interview situation, this can mean underselling your worth. All of this can make interviewing a challenge.
How Can Strengths University Help?
Strengths Coaching will help you better understand and communicate your unique set of talents. Typically, most people applying to a job will have similar backgrounds or experiences. You need a way to set yourself apart.
We start by doing a mock interview with some of the most common interview questions. We’ll assess your answers and give you constructive feedback on how to improve and better incorporate your Strengths into your answers. We’ll discuss some potential homework that will help you explore your experiences and how your talents have helped you succeed. We’ll also identify where you need improvement – remember employers aren’t looking for someone perfect, they’re looking for someone who is a good fit for both the job and the organization.
Our interview coaching will help you better articulate how your talents will be a benefit to the organization. It will also teach you how to get the information you need to make sure whether the job you’re applying for will actually be a good fit for you.

Alyssa Falck, Staff Pharmacist & Former Resident Assistant
After 6 years of studying to get my doctorate in pharmacy, I had a half-dozen interviews separating me from a successful career and floundering in the uncertain job market. I had developed plenty of soft skills through my extracurricular activities, but didn't know how to effectively convey them to an employer. I did a mock interview and found I had rather flat answers. After identifying and developing my top 5 strengths, I did a follow up interview a few weeks later. I’d significantly improved my answers, was less flustered, and ended up getting job offers with every company I interviewed!
